Correctional Officer

At the Placer County Sheriff's Office, our Correctional Officers are critical to our mission of providing professional care and custody of those confined within our jail facilities, and it is one of the most important roles in our agency. Our Correctional Officers work, train, and enforce the rules and regulations created to maintain the safety and well-being of everyone in our Correctional Facilities.

Both Correctional Facilities, located in Auburn and South Placer, provide work out facilities, locker rooms, staff dining, and a family-oriented environment. Qualified applicants will undergo an extensive background investigation to determine if they meet the high standards set by the Sheriff's Office in the areas including, but not limited to, high moral character, honesty, and exemplary work ethic. Dispatcher

There are few jobs more important than being a 911 Dispatcher. In an emergency, your voice is the one first heard by someone in need. Your skills save lives. Law enforcement dispatchers truly make a difference every day. The Placer County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center is located in the Auburn Justice Center. The Dispatch Center features full sit-to-stand ergonomic workstations, a locker room, a full kitchen, and a quiet room. Qualified applicants will undergo an extensive background investigation to determine if they meet the high standards set by the Sheriff's Office in the areas including, but not limited to, high moral character, honesty, and exemplary work ethic.

Administrative Legal Clerk

Although civilian employees are typically less recognized for their contributions in law enforcement, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office highly values and depends on our civilian staff who are critical to the successful operation of our agency. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office relies on our clerical support staff to process essential records, maintain accurate information, and provide services to the public within our Correctional Facilities and Sheriff’s Records Units. The main function of the Administrative Legal Clerk is to perform a wide variety of administrative, clerical and document processing duties related to the legal functions within our law enforcement agency.

Administrative Assistant

Administrative Assistants play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. This position provides administrative and clerical support to sworn staff, leadership, and the public, helping ensure efficient communication, organization, and workflow across the agency.

The primary function of the Administrative Assistant is to perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties, including preparing correspondence, maintaining records, coordinating schedules, processing documents, and providing customer service. This role requires professionalism, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
